The problem we set out to solve
Every year, migrants and families send well over $800 billion across borders. A large share of that is lost to costs the sender never sees at the point of decision — not the headline fee, but the exchange-rate markup quietly folded into the rate a provider quotes. A transfer advertised as “zero fee” can easily cost 3% once you compare its rate against the real mid-market rate.
That asymmetry is the entire reason VoliqPay exists. We calculate the one number that actually matters — how much money lands in your recipient's account — and rank providers strictly by it.
What we actually do
VoliqPay is a comparison and information service. We collect exchange rates and fee structures from the providers we cover, benchmark them against live mid-market reference rates, and publish the resulting recipient amounts across every currency corridor we support. Our methodology page documents exactly how those numbers are produced.
We are not a money transmitter. We never hold, move, or touch your funds. When you choose a provider on VoliqPay, you complete the transfer directly with that provider, on their platform, under their regulatory licence and their terms.
How we stay independent
Some of the providers we compare pay us a referral fee when a reader signs up through one of our links. That is how the site funds itself, alongside display advertising. We disclose it on every page, and it is governed by one hard rule: referral fees never influence rankings. The provider that delivers the most money to your recipient appears first. Editorial standards
- Ranked by outcome, not by relationship. Position is determined by the recipient amount our calculations produce, not by commercial terms.
- Estimates are labelled as estimates.Provider rates move continuously. We show indicative quotes and always tell you to confirm the final figure on the provider's own checkout.
- Criticism where it's due. Our provider reviews list drawbacks alongside strengths, including for providers we have a commercial relationship with.
- Corrections. If we publish something inaccurate, we fix it and we do not quietly backdate the change. Tell us at hello@voliqpay.com.
Who runs VoliqPay
VoliqPay is an independently operated site built and maintained by a small team with backgrounds in fintech and consumer software. We are not owned by, funded by, or operated on behalf of any money transfer provider, bank, or payments company featured in our comparisons.
